Family of Zelig and Chaia Tartasky

Zelig and Chaia Tartasky

Chaia with her five children circa 1907. Only the names of the two older sons are known; Manny (second from left) and Abe (Al, second from right). The mother and the other three children were murdered in the Holocaust. One of the girls was named Gitl.

Manny as a young boy, probably around 1914

Inscription of the back of this photo says "A remembrance for my dear brother Menchel (Manny) from me, your sister Gitl Tartasky, Tel Aviv 27 March (19)19"

Manny and his two sisters. The young boy is likely the son of his eldest sister.

Zelig and Chaia with their youngest daughter, her husband and son. All remained in Bialystok and were murdered in the Holocaust.

Chaia and her two daughters, probably taken in Bialystok, with Zelig and Manny in background. The numbers arranged vertically to the right, "11498" would normally represent a date, but such a date does not make sense.
