Shown above is a portion of the death register of the Jews of Bialystok showing the death of Leizer Beniaminowicz Tartacki, who died on April 23, 1889 at age 45. He is the brother of Yechaskel Tartasky and the man after whom almost all the Louis's in the family are named. The record is written in Russian. It was acquired by hiring a record searcher in Bialystok who went to the archives and searched for Tartasky records.
